Birding Package ~ 3 days 2 nights Kuching Birding Package ~ Kubah + Borneo Highlands

 

Day 01

Kubah National Park Full Day Birding – Night Walk for birds  (No meal)

0700 hrs

Pick up from Kuching City then proceed for birding at Kubah National Park. The Park is situated on a sandstone plateau, mostly covered by mixed dipterocarp forest which interspersed with patches of scrub & unusually rich area of Kerangas forest, is the home of mammals, birds & many species of reptiles and amphibians. Upon arrival aim to spot endemic species like Blue-banded Pitta, Bornean Blue Flycatcher, Bornean Banded Kingfisher Yellow-rumped Flowerpecker, Bornean Black Magpie & etc. Meanwhile, aim to spot resident birds like Red-bearded Bee-eater,  Raffles’s Malkoha, Red-naped Trogan, Diard’s Trogon, Scarlet-rumped Trogon, Rufous-backed Kingfisher, Rufous-collared Kingfisher, Red-crowned Barbet, Red-throated Barbet, Rufous Piculet, Olive-backed Woodpecker, Black-&-yellow Broadbill, Banded Broadbill, Green Broadbill, Chestnut-naped Forktail, White-rumped Shama, Rufous-crowned Babbler, Scaly-crowned Babbler, Spotted Fantail, Asian Paradise Flycatcher, Grey-breasted Jungle-flycatcher, Scarlet-breasted Flowerpecker, Crested Jay & etc. Lunch by own expenses. After lunch, continue birding till late afternoon.

Dinner by own expenses, after dinner proceed for night birding and aim to spot Brown Hawk Owl, Sunda Scop Owl, Bornean Frogmouth & etc. Overnight at Kubah National Park.

 

Day 02

Kubah National Park ½ Day Birding – Borneo Highlands – Night Walk for birds      (Breakfast)

0630hrs

After breakfast continue birding for more resident birds. Check out in the afternoon then transfer to Borneo Highlands. The highland is sitting on the Penrissen Range, 1000 metres (3,300 feet) above sea level, offer a perfect blend of luxurious comfort and existing virgin rainforest, it spring like environment blessed with an astonishing varieties of flora and fauna, from the rich vegetation & lush sub-montane rainforest  provides a great habitat for sub-montane species which you will unlikely encounter elsewhere. Check in to Borneo Highlands Resort and night walk for Reddish Scops-owl, Bornean Frogmouth. Lunch & Dinner by own expenses and overnight stay at the Resort.

 

Day 03

Full Day Birding @ Borneo Highlands  (Breakfast)

0630hrs

After breakfast continue birding and aim to spot endemic species like Bornean barbet, Pygmy white-eye, Chestnut-Crested Yuhina, Bornean Brown Barbet, Dusky Munia & etc. Meanwhile, aim to spot resident bird like Blyth’s Hawk Eagle, Black-thighed Falconet, White-necked Babbler, Eyebrowed Wren-babbler, Red-billed Malkoha, Chestnut-breasted Malkoha, Wreathed Hornbill, Gold-whiskered Barbet, Blue-eared Barbet, Asian Fairy Bluebird, Blue-winged Leafbird, Cinereous Bulbul, Scaly-breasted Bulbul, Temminck’s Babbler, Chestnut-backed Scimitar Babbler, Hill Blue Flycatcher, Rufous-chested Flycatcher, Verditer Flycatcher, Maroon-breasted Philentoma, Grey-breasted Spiderhunter, Spectacled Spiderhunter, Hume’s White-eye & etc. Lunch at Annah Rais Restaurant by own expenses. After lunch continue for birding till late afternoon then transfer back to Kuching City.
